Day 4: No Perfect Disciples
Reading: Mark 14:27-31, 66-72
Devotional: Peter's story reminds us that there are no heroes in the gospel accounts except Jesus. Peter boldly declared he would never deny Christ, then did exactly that three times. Yet this same Peter became a pillar of the early church. The difference between Peter and Judas wasn't the severity of their sins—both betrayed Jesus. The difference was that Peter returned to Jesus in repentance while Judas remained trapped in despair. Your past failures don't disqualify you from God's purposes. Every disciple stumbled; every disciple was restored. Stop measuring yourself against an impossible standard of perfection. Instead, measure yourself against the cross, where grace proves sufficient for every failure.
