Day 2: The Gift of Repentance
Reading: 2 Corinthians 7:8-11
Devotional: Paul distinguishes between worldly grief and godly sorrow. Worldly grief—remorse without faith—produces death, just as it did in Judas. But godly sorrow leads to repentance and salvation without regret. Repentance is not something we manufacture through sufficient shame or adequate penance. It is a gift from God that turns us from our sin toward our Savior. Peter wept bitterly after denying Jesus, yet those same tears became the pathway back to restoration. The question is not whether you feel bad enough about your sin, but whether you will accept the gift of turning back to Jesus. His grace is greater than your greatest failure.
