Ascension's History

In 2014, a group of Pratt residents were attending Ascension Lutheran in Wichita when they were challenged to plant a new Lutheran church in their hometown.

For the next few years, the congregation worshiped in many buildings around town including All Saints Episcopal Church, the 4-H center and The Barron Theater. During that time, The Lord added to Ascension’s numbers as the congregation welcomed new members through adult baptisms and confirmation.

In 2019, Ascension moved into their permanent home at the corner of Second and Thompson and made plans to renovate the building.

Those renovations started in August 2022 and the redesigned sanctuary, narthex, and classrooms were dedicated in March 2023.

We have seen God’s hand at work from the beginning and pray that he continues to use us to bring the Gospel to the Pratt community and beyond for years to come.
