Ascension's Mission

The mission of Ascension Lutheran Church is to be a gospel community for the community. By the power of the Holy Spirit, we are committed to showing and sharing Jesus' love and mercy in our church and in our community.

The vision of Ascension Lutheran Church is to see everyone in and around the Pratt community connected to Jesus and to one another.

Church as Tailgate

What does it mean that Ascension Pratt is church as tailgate? A tailgate is the place where dedicated people get together to cheer for their favorite team and celebrate victory. At Ascension, we do the same thing. Every week, we celebrate Jesus, our champion, and the victory we have in His life, death, and resurrection. We celebrate what God is doing in our lives and in the lives of our friends, family, and community. We love to gather around good food with good friends - and we have fun doing it.

Our Values

Family by Choice

At a tailgate, everyone is family, even though not everyone is related. They're united in their love and support of the team.
At Ascension, we're united in Christ. We come from different background and have different experiences. But when we gather, we are choosing to be together to support one another, care for each other, and, by the power of the Holy Spirit, show God's gracious and generous love for us in Jesus.

Get 'Er Done Well

From worship to community service, we are an active church that aims for quality in all we do.
At Ascension we believe God has made everyone with unique gifts and abilities that build up and serve the body of Christ.
We encourage each other to use our gifts in active service to each other and the community.
Whether it's sending birthday cards or teaching a Fusion class, we honor who God has made us to be and use our gifts to expand His kingdom.

Our Town

Tailgaters support their teams because they have a sense of ownership of the team.
We feel the same way about Pratt and the surrounding communities. We want all our friends and family to know the love and joy of following Jesus. We want to care for their physical, spiritual, and emotional needs. We don't wait for someone else to help our community. This is our town and it's our job to care for our neighbors.
