Your Body. His Temple.
This powerful message invites us to reconsider what it truly means to be a living sacrifice in our modern world. Drawing from Romans 12, we explore how the ancient temple sacrificial system wasn't about God needing our offerings, but about keeping our hearts aligned with His. Just as the Israelites had various offerings for different occasions, our sacrifices today take many forms: forgiveness instead of revenge, humility instead of pride, patience instead of anger. The most challenging sacrifice, however, often involves our finances. Statistics reveal that while we spend significant amounts on coffee, dining out, and entertainment, most Christians give only 2% or less of their income to God's work. This isn't about guilt, but about heart examination. Where we spend our money reveals what we truly value. As temples of the Holy Spirit, we're called to constantly realign our hearts with God's priorities, remembering Jesus's teaching to seek first His kingdom. The beauty of being a living sacrifice is that it's not about deprivation but about proper alignment, ensuring our possessions don't possess us and our treasures don't eclipse our relationship with the One who gave everything for us.
