Summer Road Trip

In this powerful exploration of Jonah's story, we're challenged to confront our own tendencies to run from God's calling. Just as Jonah fled to Tarshish instead of obeying God's command to go to Nineveh, we often choose comfort over obedience. This message invites us to reflect on how we respond when God's word pushes us out of our comfort zones. Are we willing to forgive, give generously, share God's love, or even love our enemies? The parallel drawn between Jonah's unwanted journey and Jesus' path to the cross reminds us of the profound love God has for us. It encourages us to embrace our own 'unwanted journeys' as opportunities to bring God's comfort to others, just as Christ did for us. This teaching urges us to move beyond our self-centered concerns and align our will with God's, echoing Jesus' words, 'Not my will, but yours be done.'
