Like a Child: Invite Like a Child

What if the most powerful thing we could say to someone living in fear and uncertainty is simply, 'Come and see'? That is the invitation at the heart of this message, drawn from the moment in John 1 when Philip finds Nathanael and tells him he has found the one Moses and the prophets wrote about. There is something almost childlike in the way Philip extends this invitation, full of wonder and excitement, the way a child calls you away from whatever you are doing because something incredible simply cannot wait. The message invites us to recover that same sense of awe. We have met Jesus. We know how the story ends. And that changes everything about the way we invite others into faith.
