Day 5: Faithful in the In-Between Time
Reading: Psalm 145:3-7 and Revelation 7:9-12
Devotional: We live between two great moments: the ascension of Christ and his return. In that in-between space, we are called to be faithful stewards of the gospel, even when we cannot see the full fruit of our labor. Psalm 145 declares that one generation will commend God's works to another. Revelation gives us a glimpse of the destination: a multitude beyond counting, from every tribe and tongue, gathered before the throne. The seeds we plant today may not bloom until a generation we will never meet. But God sees the whole harvest. He is faithful to complete what he begins. Our calling is not to see the end, but to be faithful in the moment we have been given.
Personal Reflection: How does the vision of that great multitude in Revelation shape the way you think about your role in telling the next generation about Jesus?
Practical Application: Pray specifically for the young people in your congregation or community by name. Ask the Lord of the harvest to raise up workers, and ask him to show you one way you can invest in the faith of a younger person this month, whether through a conversation, a relationship, or a word of encouragement.
