Day 2: A Generous Master, Not a Hard One
Reading: Matthew 25:14-30
Devotional: The servant who buried his talent did not do so out of laziness alone. He did so because he had a distorted picture of his master. He believed his master was harsh, demanding, and impossible to please. But the parable tells a different story. The master was extravagantly generous, entrusting his servants with enormous wealth and rewarding their faithfulness with even greater abundance. Fear of God causes us to bury what he has given us. But a true understanding of his grace and generosity frees us to put his gifts to work. The God who sent his Son for you is not a hard master. He is a giving Father.
Personal Reflection: In what areas of your life has fear of judgment or failure caused you to hold back from using what God has entrusted to you?
Practical Application: Identify one gift, ability, or opportunity you have been hesitant to offer in service to God or others. Take one concrete step today toward putting that gift to work for his kingdom.
