Day 4

Day 4: Asking the Father
Reading: Matthew 7:7-11, where Jesus describes a father's willingness to give good gifts to his children and invites his followers to ask, seek, and knock

Devotional: Children are remarkably unashamed about asking for what they need. They do not overthink whether the request is worthy or whether the parent will be bothered. They simply ask. Jesus uses this image deliberately to describe how we are to approach our heavenly Father. The invitation is not reserved for spiritual emergencies or moments of desperation. It is an open, standing invitation. God is not annoyed by your needs. He is not too busy for your questions. He is a Father who gives good gifts and who delights in the relationship that asking creates. Ask him today.

Practical Application: Write out three specific requests to bring before God today, including one practical need, one relational concern, and one question about direction in your life.
