Day 1

Day 1: The Quiet Trust of a Weaned Child
Reading: Psalm 131

Devotional: There is a profound difference between a newborn crying out in panic and a weaned child resting quietly in a parent's arms. The weaned child has learned through experience that the parent is faithful. David wrote this psalm from that place of hard-won trust. He had stopped straining after things too great for him and had settled into a posture of stillness before God. This is not passivity. It is confidence rooted in relationship. Today, consider where anxiety has replaced trust in your life. What would it look like to simply rest in the arms of your heavenly Father?

Practical Application: Identify one area of worry you have been carrying alone. Write it down, then physically set the paper aside as a symbolic act of releasing it to God.
