Day 5: Changed by the Friend Who Knows Us Best
Reading: Romans 8:38-39 — Paul's declaration that nothing in all creation is able to separate us from the love of God that is found in Christ Jesus.
Devotional: Jesus is the ultimate Nathan. He comes to us not to condemn but to challenge, correct, and comfort. He knows every hidden thing about us, every sin we have buried and every crown of foolishness we have placed on our own heads, and he comes anyway. He speaks to us through Scripture, through community, through worship, and through the quiet moments of conviction that we sometimes try to ignore. And after he has spoken the hard truth, he speaks the greater truth: you are loved, you are forgiven, and nothing can change that. The question is whether we will let his words actually change us. David did. We can too.
Reflection: In what specific way is Jesus calling you to change right now? What is standing in the way of that change?
Practical Application: Choose one area of your life where you know God has been speaking and you have been slow to respond. Take one concrete step of obedience this week, however small, and build on the rock.
