Day 2: The Danger of Being King of Your Own Kingdom
Reading: Proverbs 12:15 — A verse describing how a fool sees his own way as right, while a wise person listens to counsel.
Devotional: David had power, status, and the admiration of an entire nation. And yet, unchecked, that position became a trap. When no one around us feels free to challenge us, we begin to believe our own version of events without question. We become the king or queen of a kingdom built entirely on our own judgment. This is a dangerous place to live. God never intended for us to navigate life relying solely on our own understanding. He gave us community, Scripture, and the Holy Spirit precisely because we are not meant to be self-sufficient rulers. Humility is not weakness. It is the foundation of wisdom.
