Day 1

Day 1: The Courage of a True Friend
Reading: Proverbs 27:5-6 — A passage about how open correction and the wounds of a friend are more trustworthy than the flattery of an enemy.

Devotional: Nathan did not take the easy road. He walked into the presence of the most powerful man in Israel and told him the truth. That kind of courage is rare, and it only grows out of genuine love. Think about the people in your life who have told you something hard because they cared about you. Their words may have stung, but they were a gift. God places truth-tellers in our lives not to humiliate us but to redirect us. Ask yourself today: am I open to correction, or do I shut it out the moment it becomes uncomfortable? True friendship speaks the truth, and true wisdom receives it.

Reflection: Who in your life has been a Nathan to you? Have you thanked them?

Practical Application: Reach out to someone today who has spoken an honest and difficult truth to you. Express gratitude for their courage and their care.
