Day 1: The Wisdom of Diligent Work
Reading: Proverbs 10:4-5; Proverbs 12:11
Devotional: It is easy to separate our spiritual lives from our Monday through Friday routines. But the wisdom literature of Scripture refuses to make that separation. God inspired writers to address the way we show up to our daily responsibilities because our work reveals something about our character and our trust in God. Laziness is not simply a productivity problem — it is a spiritual posture that says the ordinary does not matter. But God says it does. The field you tend, the task you complete, the effort you bring — these are offerings. Work done with diligence honors the God who placed you exactly where you are.
Reflection: Where in your daily routine are you tempted to mail it in? What would it look like to bring genuine effort there tomorrow?
