Day 2: The Pursuing God
Reading: Luke 15:1-7 -- Jesus tells the parable of a shepherd who leaves ninety-nine sheep to search for the one that is lost, and who celebrates with great joy upon finding it.
Devotional: God does not wait passively for people to find their way to him. He goes after the lost. He went after a wandering Israel in the wilderness. He went after Augustine through the singing of children and the pages of Romans. He goes after young adults today through quiet promptings that lead them to open a Bible alone in their room. The next generation is not beyond his reach. No child who has drifted, no teenager who has walked away, no young adult who has never heard the gospel is outside the pursuit of this shepherd. Your prayers for them are not wasted. They are joining a search already underway.
