Day 2: Hope That Holds in Suffering
Reading: Romans 5:1-5
Devotional: Paul makes a startling claim — that suffering is not the enemy of hope but one of its pathways. Suffering produces perseverance. Perseverance builds character. Character deepens hope. And this hope, Paul insists, will never put you to shame, because it is not built on your own strength or resolve. It is built on the love of God poured into your heart by the Holy Spirit. The young people turning back to the church are not finding easy answers there. They are finding something far better — a love that does not disappear when life gets hard. That love is yours too.
Reflection: Think of a past season of suffering. Looking back, how did God use it to build perseverance or deepen your faith?
