Day 3

Day 3: The God Who Invites the Weary
Reading: Matthew 11:28-30 -- Jesus extends an open invitation to all who are exhausted and burdened, promising rest for those who come to him.

Devotional: Rest is not a reward for the spiritually accomplished. It is a gift extended to the worn out. Jesus does not say, "Come to me, all you who have it together." He says come -- specifically -- to those who are weary and burdened. The world described in this sermon, filled with uncertainty, inequity, and fear, produces exactly that kind of exhaustion. And into that exhaustion, Jesus speaks the same words he has always spoken. His invitation is not complicated. It does not require preparation or a certain level of spiritual readiness. It only requires that you come. Whatever you are carrying today, bring it. He is not troubled by the weight of it.

Reflection: What burden are you still carrying that you have not yet brought to Jesus?
