Day 1: Becoming Like a Child
Reading: Matthew 18:1-5
Devotional: Jesus does not call his followers to the polished wisdom of adulthood. He calls them to the open, unguarded trust of a child. Children do not calculate worth or negotiate belonging. They simply receive. In the same way, entering the kingdom of God begins not with achievement but with surrender -- surrendering the need to be right, the need to keep score, the need to protect yourself from being hurt again. Ask yourself today: where have you replaced childlike trust with grown-up self-protection? Lay that guard down before God and receive his kingdom with open hands.
