Day 4: Self-Denial and Kingdom Priorities
Reading: Matthew 16:24-26; Luke 12:22-34
Devotional: "Seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you." Jesus' words cut through our anxiety about provision and security. Sacrifice is fundamentally self-denial—choosing God's will over our preferences, His kingdom over our comfort. This doesn't mean God wants you miserable or deprived. Rather, He wants your things to serve you, not enslave you. The question isn't whether coffee, streaming services, or travel are wrong—they're not. The question is whether they've become obstacles to intimacy with God. Being a living sacrifice means constantly evaluating and realigning our priorities. It means trusting that when we put God first, He faithfully provides what we need.
