Day 2: The Covenant of Relationship
Reading: Exodus 19:3-8; Hebrews 8:6-13
Devotional: God's covenant with His people has always been relational, not transactional. When Israel stood at Mount Sinai and declared, "We will do everything the Lord has said," they entered a sacred promise. Today, through Christ, we live under a new and better covenant—one written on our hearts rather than stone tablets. The sacrificial system wasn't about appeasing an angry God; it was about keeping hearts focused on the relationship He established. Just as couples give gifts to nurture their relationship, the sacrifices helped Israel remember God's faithfulness. In Christ, the ultimate sacrifice has been made. Now our lives become the response—a continual turning of our hearts toward the One who first loved us.
