Day 5: Trusting God in the Storms of Life
Reading: Mark 4:35-41, Psalm 46:1-11
Devotional: Life often presents us with storms—situations that make us feel afraid and out of control. In Mark's gospel, we see Jesus calming both the literal storm and His disciples' fears. Psalm 46 reminds us that God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. When you face your own "storms," do you immediately turn to God, or do you try to weather them on your own strength first? Practice the discipline of bringing your fears to God immediately. Visualize yourself in the boat with Jesus, hearing Him say, "Peace, be still" to the chaos in your life. Close your devotional time by declaring, "Be still, and know that I am God" over any areas of turmoil in your life.
